The Pokémon event we have all been training for has finally arrived!
Join your local Pokémon community as well as players from all over NY and PA as they compete for mega Championship points in the premiere event of the season!
This is Season 1 of 4 in the 2024 League Season, and our store’s FIRST time ever hosting a Cup. We have come a long way in our Pokémon journey from when we first decided to add Pokémon to our event menu in May of 2022. At first, we had around 4 regular players. By the summer of that year, we started to see growth, mostly Juniors learning the game and enjoying the competition. Now, at our weekly league events, we see an average of 6-16 players of all prize divisions! For our League Challenges, we’ve grown from 8 to 24 players at an event!!! And, for the first time ever in the history of hosting events across all trading card games, we have hit the maximum capacity of players our store can support in pre-registrations days before the event takes place!!!
Thirty-two eager players have pre-registered for this event! That said, we are looking at completing 5, 50 minute rounds before the top players move on to compete in 3 single elimination rounds. That makes for a long day!
Prizes for the event include Prize Pack Series 3 to all participating players, as well as a share of the prize pool of Obsidian Flames packs for the top half of all players in each prize division. Also, first place in each age division will receive an exclusive Championship playmat from the Pokémon company! Lastly, players are awarded a mega amount of Championship points based on their placement in the event!!!
